FOREIGN LANGUAGE PROGRAM

The Foreign Language Program at Doan Thi Diem Primary School - Hanoi is designed to align with the general goals of the Foreign Language Program within the General Education Program, with clear learning outcomes for each academic year and ensuring continuity for subsequent grade levels. This program not only comprehensively develops the four skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) but also encourages students to use English as a second language in activities such as presentations, expressing personal opinions, as well as using their English skills to study other subjects, find information, and connect globally effectively.

1. Enhanced French Program

The enhanced French program is taught as part of a project by the Ministry of Education and Training with a duration of 10 periods per week. Since the 2019-2020 school year, the school's French-speaking group has been the first primary school in Hanoi to officially join the LabelFrancÉducation organization.

Students from Grade 3 onwards have an additional 4 periods of English per week according to the Ministry of Education and Training's curriculum. The teaching staff is intensively trained under the project's program. Native-speaking teachers are provided through teacher training cooperation programs between Vietnam and France.

Students in the French bilingual project will continue to study the international standard program until Grade 12 through the French-speaking school system in Hanoi (including Doan Thi Diem Secondary School, Giang Vo, Ngo Si Lien, and specialized high schools like Amsterdam, Chu Van An, Foreign Language Specialized High School, Nguyen Hue Specialized High School, etc.).

2. Enhanced English Program

Each week, students have 3 periods with a full-time, experienced native English teacher who works at the school.

100% of students who complete the school's program achieve a proficiency level equivalent to A2, and many students reach a B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
